Couponing 101-Acronyms

The world of couponing has it's own language which can be quite frustrating when you are trying to get the best deals.

Today, I am going to help you out with some of the frequently used acronyms in couponing. While this is not an all inclusive list, this will give you a good solid start.

AY=All You Magazine - This magazine is only available at Walmart or by subscription. It typically contains a large number of coupons.

BOGO=Buy one, get one free - Likewise, B1G2 is buy one, get 2 free and so on.

CAT=Catalina - These are coupons that print out of a machine at the registers. These may be a regular $ off a particular product, or may be $ off your next order, which can be used like cash in most cases. (Usually not able to use on gift cards, lottery, alcohol, tobacco, etc - pay attention to the fine print)

ECB=Extra Care Bucks - Coupons that print on your CVS receipt when you purchase special advertised items. These can be used like cash - only at CVS.

IPC=Internet printable coupons - Coupons that can be printed from the internet.

Mfr=Manufacturer

MIR=mail in rebate

OOP=Out of pocket - Refers to the actual amount of cash spent after coupons, discounts and promotions.

OYNO=On your next order

PG=Proctor & Gamble coupon insert found in Sunday paper, usually released monthly

Q=coupon

RP=Red Plum coupon insert found in Sunday paper.

RR=Register Receipt - Catalina coupon that prints at Walgreens to be used like cash on most items. I have had success using these at Jewel and Meijer in addition to Walgreens.

SS=Smart Source coupon insert found in Sunday paper.

WYB=when you buy

Hope this helps!

They are also running an additional "Disney Promo" which gives you an additional $5.00 off! (Hope this is still going on Tuesday when I go to pick up the Toy Story movies!)

"The Princess and the Frog" $19.99-$15.00 -$5.00= FREE
